About the Tour

Our story, our mission, and the people behind the game

Our Story

It started simply enough — Mickey Courtney and Justin Buchanan wanted to get a group of friends together, play some golf, and be a little competitive about it. Back in 2014, that idea became the Galunga Tour.

The real spark was the Galunga Cup — a Ryder Cup-style team match play event that pitted friends against each other in a format that brought out both the camaraderie and the competitiveness that golf does best. It was the kind of event that made everyone want more, and from that foundation, a full-season tour was born.

Over the years, what started as a handful of guys has grown into a tight-knit community of golfers spread across a wide range of handicaps and backgrounds — all united by the same thing Mickey and Justin had in mind from day one: show up, compete, have fun, and see you next tournament.

More than a decade in, the tour keeps growing. New events, new courses, new faces — but the same spirit that teed it up for the first time in 2014.
